Independence Monument

During a recent visit to Grand Junction, CO - I had a chance to visit the Colorado National Monument for the 2nd time. The first time I visited the beautiful location was very early in my photography skills. Armed with my tripod, and better filters, the results this time were much better.

Great Sand Dunes National Park

On the way home from Breckenridge I was able to talk my family into making a little detour (3 hours) to visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park. We only spent a few hours there but enjoyed walking in the hot sand.

We opted not to climb the dunes - didn't think we would like driving back to Texas with sand all over us....
