Muir Woods National Monument

We split the group one day during the trip.  I needed to return the car so Anna Claire and I visited the Muir Woods National Monument while the others took a bus tour of San Francisco.  Muir Woods is a small grove of Redwood trees just across the Golden Gate Bridge outside of San Francisco.   After seeing Sequoia’s on the same trip, it was a good comparison.  While the Redwoods are beautiful in their own way, they weren’t as magnificent as the Sequoia’s.

Walking around the Redwoods, we actually felt as if we were in prehistoric times.  It is amazing that this forested area can be so close to the city.

Ghirardelli Square - San Francisco

When traveling to San Francisco there are two areas that you must visit....Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square.  We had some clam chowder in a bread bowl for dinner.

And then headed to Ghirardelli for some ice cream!
