Awini Trail, Big Island
This was our last main adventure of the trip. I’m finally getting caught up on all my pictures! We spent a few hours hiking the Awini Trail on the Big Island to hang out at one of the black sands beaches. We’ve done this hike before but definitely wanted to get the kids on it before we left the islands. The hike down is pretty easy, except when I’m stopping at every lookout for a picture. The hike back up from the beach below, is much harder.
It was a little bit windy at the top...
They say this is one of the most photographed views on the Big Island, so I guess I'm being cliche by taking these pictures. But it's hard to pass up the opportunity!
Ashlyn just had to leave her mark on the black sands beach....

Big Island of Hawaii
We drove from Waikoloa Village around the island to Hilo where our helicopter ride began. On the way we stopped at some of the scenic locations including Waipio Valley and Akaka Falls.
