Vacation

Blacklock Point - Oregon Coastal Hike

We didn't do a whole lot of hiking on this trip, but the one coastal hike we did was awesome.  The fog lifted slightly when we got to the beach.  Perhaps this was a blessing because we had the entire beach to ourselves!  Made for some interesting captures.

One of my favorite shots.  We saw a lot of Starfish on the coastal areas.  Not sure I've ever seen them in the wild before.  Caught this shot using my tripod and timed it right with the wave coming around the rock.

Ashlyn and Sarah made some sand art :-)

This was our beach "playtime."  Despite the foggy weather, we were all glad that we made the trek down there.

Bryce decided he was king of the rocks...

Oregon Coast

August, 2015 - we rented two giant Suburbans and the twelve of us began our caravan around Oregon.  For obvious reasons, Anna Claire named our bus "Clifford."

We started the journey in Portland but didn't spend a lot of time there until the end of the trip.  The first few days took us to the coast through Newport, Bandon, and down to the Redwoods in Northern California.

Yaquina Bay Bridge

Had dinner the first night in Newport, right across the Bay from the Rogue Nation Brewery and had our first taste of some Oregon Craft Beers.

Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Marine Garden

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us.  Our days on the coast were mostly covered in fog.  I've always found that dense fog made for some nice black and white images though.
