New Orleans French Quarter

During a recent business trip to New Orleans, I decided to do something a little different. While this isn't my normal "National Park" Blog Post....there are two areas within the French Quarter that are part of the National Park System. I spent a few hours early in the morning walking around the French Quarter which provided an interesting contrast between the day crowd and night crowds. I found the city itself much more appealing in the morning and enjoyed the photo walk. For a different effect than my norm....I shot everything in black and white...

Garden of the Gods

After a long day of hiking through Curecanti and Florissant, CO I spent the night in Colorado Spring and was able to visit the Garden of the Gods before sunset.

This formation is called the kissing camels - can you see it?

One of the most photographed spots in the Garden of the Gods is the Siamese Twins. Just on the other side of this rock formation is Pikes Peak. When the light is right, the mountain can be framed perfectly within the hole. Light wasn't right for me...
