Vietnam and World War II Memorials

I hadn't purposely waited to post these until today, but the timing is good.  Such a surreal experience to walk around these memorials and watch the Veterans as they take it all in.

This gentleman later apologized to me for being in my shot.  I told him that he could stand anywhere he wanted too as far as I was concerned and thanked him for his service.

We are taking the girls to DC for the first time in June.  They are all old enough now to understand the sacrifice for freedom that these soldiers gave.  I look forward to sharing that growth moment with them.

Washington Monument

This was a surprise bonus that I captured from the Jefferson Memorial - great view of the Washington Monument at sunrise.
