Washington DC 2012

The first full day in DC, we tried to hit some of the major highlights that we could walk too from the hotel.

Sarah and I went on a morning run through the mall, visiting some of the Monuments along the way.

Saturday afternoon, we got a quick invite to the White House...

Evening stroll back to Jefferson

Sunday we visited some other areas around DC, including the Smithsonian Museums and Arlington National Cemetary.

Monday

This was definitely one of my favorite shots from the trip.  We took another morning jog and I was able to capture Jefferson in an excellent morning light.

Final Day in DC

We took Sarah's mom back to the airport but our flight didn't actually leave for a few more hours.  I hadn't been to the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, so Allie and I decided to take a quick train from the airport and visit.

The Capital - Washington DC

After making my journey around the National Mall, I had to stop by the Capital for a final photography visit.  The clouds were beginning to thicken which made for some interesting backdrops in these pictures.

During the day, we got a large rain storm.  That's never stopped me from taking pictures before, but does change it a little bit.  This was the same view on Pennsylvania Ave of the capital that I shot at night.

This is something I've been experimenting with during some night photography shoots.  I wasn't as pleased with the Capital shots that I took late at night, so I decided to get up before dawn and try again.  This was the last shot that I captured and decided it was worth the early morning!
